Genetic testing firm 23andMe Inc. has moved to transfer lawsuits over this year’s data breach to California, citing an increase in the number of cases.
In a Dec. 21 motion before the U.S. Judicial Panel on Multidistrict Litigation, 23andMe attorney Ian Ballon, a Greenberg Traurig shareholder in Los Angeles and Palo Alto, California, said there are more than 30 lawsuits filed over the breach, announced Oct. 6. And they are only expected to grow, he wrote.
