Willkie Farr & Gallagher is rapidly expanding into Europe’s largest economy after headhunting two of Latham and Watkins’ bankruptcy and restructuring partners plus their nine-lawyer team just months after setting up a new office in Munich.
Partner Jörn Kowalewski’s team will continue to practice in Hamburg but will be based in the firm’s Frankfurt offices. For the next few weeks, Kowalewski, Ulrich Klockenbrink, and new Willkie partner Hendrik Hauke (formerly counsel at Latham) will be working out of Frankfurt—and bringing some of their Latham clients with them.
