Financial services companies are struggling to get employees to comply with restrictions on the use of WhatsApp and other messaging tools, even though the nearly $3 billion in fines regulators have doled out over the last two years has created widespread awareness of what’s permissible.
That was the central finding of Global Relay’s recently released Compliant Communications Report 2024, which found that “it is seldom a lack of rules or policies that causes non-compliance, but an individual’s unwillingness to follow them.”
