In 2022, former Dechert partner and e-discovery expert Benjamin Barnett was asked to eulogize both his mother and his mother-in-law. Those are the kinds of assignments that get people thinking about what’s important to them. Barnett says that was the case for him.
“I’ve always hoped that I can help other people,” said Barnett when I caught up with him earlier this week to discuss his move at the turn of the year to Seeger Weiss. During his two decades at Dechert, Barnett served a time as chair of the products liability and mass tort group and co-chair of its complex litigation group. He said he hopes the expertise he’s developed in handling e-discovery issues defending large companies will help his new firm get individuals’ cases to trial.
