On Friday, a jury in Chicago’s Cook County Circuit Court awarded compensatory damages to the family of Theresa Garcia, a mother of six kids who died in 2020 after lifelong use of Johnson & Johnson’s baby powder and other products. Their decision came out on the same day that jurors in Florida’s Sarasota County Circuit Court handed Johnson & Johnson a defense win in the first post-bankruptcy verdict to come out of an ovarian cancer case.
