The U.K. Justice Secretary has said he plans to use legislation to counteract last year’s Supreme Court ruling against litigation funding agreements.
Alex Chalk’s intervention comes after Alan Bates—the former sub-postmaster and protagonist of ITV’s influential drama on the Horizon scandal—argued in the Financial Times earlier this month that litigation funding enabled him and others to take legal action against the Post Office.
