Two lawsuits seeking corporate accountability in the Middle East could, if successful, result in groundbreaking rulings against large corporations.
In the first case, international law firm Hausfeld is representing Hussein Julood, an Iraqi national, in a lawsuit against oil giant BP for alleged health damages caused by flaring practices. Julood alleges that BP’s excessive gas flaring in an oilfield near Rumaila, Iraq, led to his son Ali Hussein’s death from leukemia.
