Former President Donald Trump cannot rely on an “amorphous” presence-of-counsel defense at his upcoming Manhattan criminal trial, a judge has ruled.
Acting Supreme Court Justice Juan Merchan on Monday granted a request from prosecutors to preclude Trump’s attorneys from furthering a vague defense, saying it would only confuse jurors.
