Former President Donald Trump and his co-defendants on Monday filed notice of appeal of the nearly half-billion dollar judgment ordered by a Manhattan judge in a civil fraud case, arguing that the Appellate Division, First Department should consider whether the judgment had legal or factual deficiencies.
Manhattan Supreme Court Justice Arthur Engoron found Trump and his co-defendants liable for fraud and ordered him to pay $355 million in disgorgement, plus prejudgment interest, in a ruling filed Feb. 16. Engoron ordered Eric Trump and Donald Trump Jr. to pay $4 million each and ordered former Trump Organization CFO Allen Weisselberg to pay $1 million.
