On Tuesday, Thomson Reuters announced the public availability of CoCounsel Drafting, the company’s recently introduced end-to-end drafting solution that functions as a Microsoft Word add-in.

The company first introduced the new drafting tool in May, on the heels of a Thomson Reuters survey that found that lawyers spend 40% to 60% of their daily time drafting, largely in Microsoft Word, but that 96% of those lawyers were dissatisfied with their current drafting tools. At the time, Rawia Ashraf, vice president of product, legal technology at Thomson Reuters, unveiled CoCounsel Drafting, saying, “Almost 100% of lawyers are frustrated by something they spend 50% of their careers doing, and so that’s the problem that we’re solving here.”
