The litigators at Elsberg Baker & Maruri have already been to trial twice in the firm’s first 90 days of existence and are poised to have at least three more before the end of the year.

That’s according to former Selendy Gay Elsberg name partner David Elsberg, who founded the New York trial boutique in February alongside former Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan partners Rollo Baker and Silpa Maruri. Elsberg spoke with me earlier this week about the firm’s goal of having all its lawyers—currently 17 with more set to join—capable of sitting first chair at trial. Here’s what he had to say about how the firm is seeking to recruit young lawyers with a passion for trial work and training them how to do it.
