Sequoia Capital LLC, a real estate development compnay, was hit with a trademark infringement lawsuit on June 25 in California Central District Court. The court case was filed by Ropes & Gray on behalf of California-based venture capital firm Sequoia Capital. The court action contends that the defendant’s name is confusing similar to the plaintiff’s marks. Counsel have not yet appeared for the defendant. The case is 8:24-cv-01396, Sequoia Capital Operations, LLC v. Sequoia Capital LLC.
