Reading Hospital agreed Monday to pay $32.5 million to resolve a birth injury lawsuit that, according to plaintiffs counsel, another lawyer had previously declined to pursue.
Ross Feller Casey founding partner Matt Casey said his firm took on the case after the first attorney the injured child’s family contacted turned it down. Casey said the lawyer likely did so because certain medical records appeared to contradict the plaintiffs’ claims, but he said Ross Feller worked to develop a theory that accounted for the seemingly unfavorable evidence.
