Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman is defending the Regents of the University of California in a trade secrets complaint brought by Jones Day on behalf of Agensys Inc., which alleges a key scientist disclosed confidential information regarding promising cancer research.

The suit, filed in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California, alleges Norbert Peekhaus, wrongly disclosed findings that came from research done during his employment at Agensys, where he led a team developing antibodies targeting a specific protein, known as LRRC15, associated with cancer cells and surrounding tissue.
