The Ontario Bar Association has hired Canadian legal tech visionary Colin Lachance as its 2024-25 innovator-in-residence, appointing him to spearhead an initiative to assist lawyers across the profession with effectively integrating artificial intelligence into their practices. Lachance co-founded the legal tech startup Jurisage AI, which merged with CiteRight in September of last year. The OBA is one of the largest voluntary legal associations in Canada, representing more than 16,000 lawyers, judges, law professors and law students.
