During a lengthy hearing on Tuesday that spanned a number of topics, New York Department of Financial Services Superintendent Adrienne Harris described wide-ranging changes she’s made to the regulatory agency’s approach, and received a warm welcome from most—specifically, all but one of the—lawmakers on a joint group of Senators and Assembly members.
Harris became superintendent of the world’s financial center, regulating more than 3,000 financial institutions, and the country’s only prudential regulator in the country with authority specific to virtual currency, in January 2022.
