Ten more counties in North Carolina officially switched from paper to electronic filing this week as Enterprise Justice (Odyssey) continues its rollout of the state’s cloud-hosted digital case management system, bringing access to a total of 27 counties and nearly half of the state’s population.
As more and more counties come online, litigation over alleged technical glitches remains pending in a class action lawsuit filed against county sheriffs, court administrators, and the software programmer in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of North Carolina. In their lawsuit, the plaintiffs claim they experienced arrest or detention issues due to software defects.
