A woman who claims she was sexually abused by her grandfather from 3 until she was 17 has agreed to accept $7.5 million to settle her suit under New Jersey’s Child Sex Abuse Act.
Hal Sitt, now 88, consented to the entry of a judgment against him in connection with claims that he sexually abused his granddaughter and told her that her life and her family’s lives would be ruined if she reported the abuse. The judgment was entered April 30, just as the civil suit brought by Joyce Sitt Sperling was about to go to trial.
