Following a decision by the Colorado Supreme Court, Maine on Thursday became the second state to disqualify former President Donald Trump’s appearance on a primary ballot as a growing divide continues among state courts on the matter.
Colorado was the first state to bar Trump’s appearance on a primary ballot. In a ruling by Maine Secretary of State Shenna Bellows, she found the former president’s primary petition invalid under Section 3 of the Fourteenth Amendment, as she concluded it applies to candidates for president.
