On Thursday, French American AI company Kili Technology announced that it has rebranded its generative AI-based patent tool davinci as DeepIP. The tool, which is now integrated with Microsoft Word, automates the drafting of patents and responses to office actions, which are letters from the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) listing legal issues with a patent or application. Davinci was first launched by Kili Technologies in January 2024.
Kili Technology CEO and co-founder Francois-Xavier Leduc told Legaltech News that the rebranding is not just a name change, noting that DeepIP is “quite different” than davinci. “So if you take the davinci product when we launched it, it was a web application,” he said.
