The Georgia Court of Appeals agreed to review Judge Scott McAfee’s decision to let Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis remain as prosecutor in former President Donald Trump’s election fraud case on Wednesday.
The defendant’s request came after they exposed Willis’s romantic relationship with former lead special prosecutor Nathan Wade, who has since resigned from the case. The defense also contends that some of Willis’s speeches and media comments on race, religion and racial bias constitute disqualifying forensic misconduct. On appeal, they argue the issue is whether “Willis and her entire office should have been disqualified.” The court also denied similar appeal filed by fellow election fraud defendant Harrison Floyd.
