The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency is facing two new lawsuits brought by chemical manufacturers and water utility companies over its rule aimed at reducing public consumption of per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS), also known as the “forever chemical,” through drinking water.
One lawsuit was filed by the American Water Works Association and the Association of Metropolitan Water Agencies and the other by the National Association of Manufacturers and the American Chemistry Council.
