A Northern District of Ohio jury recently held that people with tattoos have an implied license to include their body art as part of their appearance when depicted in video games, further drawing the line between infringement and noninfringement in tattoo copyright claims.
The result comes after tattoo artist James Hayden sued LeBron James and 2K Games for copyright infringement for not getting permission from him to use his tattoo designs before including them on LeBron’s character model in a basketball video game.
