International law firms are vying for roles in Egypt’s $35 billion Ras El Hekma building project, the county’s largest-ever development project, set in a valuable coastal location and fueled by financial support from Gulf nations.
Baker McKenzie has counselled the Egyptian government while Cairo law firm Matouk Bassiouny advised the Abu Dhabi Developmental Holding Company (ADQ) on the terms of its acquisition of development rights. Cairo’s Barakat, Maher & Partners in association with Clyde & Co. told Law.com International that they are well positioned to pick up additional work.
