Children’s apparel retailer Carter’s has been accused in a new digital privacy proposed class action of violating California’s Invasion of Privacy Act (CIPA) by partnering with TikTok to install “trap and trace” software on its website.
Carter’s, which is based in Atlanta, uses TikTok’s Automatic Advanced Matching software to collect data such as “location, source, and identity” about the consumers that visit its website, skiphop.com.
