France’s decade-old regime for group actions is so complicated and limited that only a few dozen cases have been filed and only one has resulted in a final judgment of liability against a defendant.
That may soon change if the French legislature can agree on a draft bill on “actions de groupe” that, among other things, would write the EU Representative Actions Directive into national law, albeit more than a year late.
