Last year, 30 Chinese law firms announced they would be setting up a total of 40 new offices in mainland China, according to an analysis of data conducted by Law.com International.
Of those 30, fewer than a handful are considered to rate among the country’s elite law firms, which have focused on securing and solidifying international market share rather than expanding in the domestic Chinese market.
