Bird & Bird has hired capital markets partner David Cheng from Winston & Strawn, which announced last year that it would be winding down its Hong Kong practice in February of this year.
Cheng advises on initial public offerings, spin-offs, reverse takeovers, and privatizations. He acts for underwriters, placing agents and issuers. Last year, he represented Good Pride Limited as lender of a debt facility to StormHarbour Securities (Hong Kong) Limited. He also advised Hong Kong-listed Meilleure Health International Industry Group Limited on the acquisition of three properties in mainland China.
