Vorys Sater Seymour and Pease’s gross revenue rose 4% last year to $231 million, but net income and profits per equity partner each declined as the Am Law 200 firm’s expense load took a toll, according to preliminary financial reporting by The American Lawyer.

Overall, amid flat growth in its equity partner ranks, the firm’s net income declined by 3.6% to $85 million in 2023 and its profits per equity partner was down 3% to $647,000. As overall headcount was also flat, with 352 lawyers, its revenue per lawyer rose by more than 4% to $655,000.
