The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eight Circuit found in two separate rulings that Iowa laws related to the use of deception to get employed and record on trespassed property do not violate the First Amendment, as alleged by animal rights groups.
The lawsuits, brought by groups that deploy self-styled investigators who go undercover looking for violations of animal cruelty statutes and other laws, are aimed at government officials including Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds and Iowa Attorney General Brenna Bird.
