American Airlines was hit with a lawsuit on Aug. 19 in New Jersey federal court. The suit was brought by Andris Law on behalf of Chaya Schwarcz, who contends that she was sexually assaulted by an adjacent passenger while on a nonstop flight from Charlotte Douglas International Airport to Newark Liberty International Airport. Counsel have yet to appear for the defendant. The case is Schwarcz v. American Airlines, No. 2:24-cv-08551.
