Africa would be making a mistake by following the European Union and Canada in regulating artificial intelligence, according to the co-head of the Africa group at Clifford Chance.
Jennifer Chimanga, a London-based M&A partner focused in the telecoms, media and technology sector in Africa, said regulation is not the path for Africa to toe yet because the region is still behind when it comes to AI adoption.
