Africa Deal Roundup: Major Firms Lead on $1.25B Petrochemical Financing in Nigeria

White & Case and Allen Overy Shearman Sterling have advised on a $1.25 billion financing deal for Indorama Eleme, a petrochemical company based in Nigeria and one of Africa’s biggest fertilizer producers.

The funding, arranged by a group of lenders led by development finance institution International Finance Corporation (IFC), is for Indorama to build another nitrogenous urea fertilizer plant and new shipping terminal base in Nigeria, IFC said in a statement.
