As juries in state courts came out with multiple verdicts this year over Monsanto’s Roundup pesticide, one federal judge has asked: Should a settlement program managed by noted special master Ken Feinberg continue?
U.S. District Judge Vince Chhabria, who is overseeing the Roundup multidistrict litigation in the Northern District of California, appointed Feinberg as special master. Since 2020, Feinberg has run a settlement program since Monsanto’s parent company, Bayer, announced plans to resolve the estimated 120,000 claims alleging Roundup caused non-Hodgkin lymphoma for nearly $10.9 billion.
