Alphabet, Google, YouTube and OpenAI were slapped with class actions for allegedly using YouTube content creators’ material to train artificial intelligence models without the creators’ consent.
Two complaints—one against OpenAI and one against Google, YouTube and their parent company, Alphabet—were filed on Aug. 2 by Bursor & Fisher in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California. Counsel has not yet appeared for OpenAI or Alphabet.
