London’s High Court has ruled in favour of the Republic of Mozambique, awarding over two billion dollars against an institution in the United Arab Emirate for its role in the fraudulent ‘Tuna Bonds’ deal which plunged the African country into a financial crisis.
Justice Robin Knowles, on Monday, concluded that allegations of bribery and corruption the Attorney General of Mozambique levelled against the Gulf-based shipbuilder Privinvest Group and its owner, the late Iskandar Safa, were largely substantiated.
