New Jersey ventured into cannabis at the insistence of the public. The public voted overwhelmingly in favor of allowing adult use cannabis in New Jersey. Specifically voters shouted that they were in favor of a constitutional amendment “to legalize a controlled form of marijuana called “cannabis.”
In order to implement the will of the public, the legislature created another government agency, at great expense to the taxpayer, to propose and adopt regulations that would establish the cannabis playing field in New Jersey.
