Outdoor gear and apparel company Patagonia was hit with a privacy class action complaint for allegedly using AI-fueled customer service software provided by Talkdesk to tap, transcribe and analyze consumers’ phone calls without their consent.
Dovel & Luner attorneys Stephen Andrews and Christin Cho filed the suit, alleging violation of the California Invasion of Privacy Act, on Thursday in the California Superior Court for Ventura County. Counsel for Patagonia has not yet appeared. The plaintiff is seeking damages of $5,000 per violation per class member.
