A federal district court jury in West Palm Beach returned a $19.5 million verdict to an investor who alleged that he was defrauded by a movie producer and his production company.
Scott Wagner and Shalia Sakona, partners at Bilzin Sumberg in Miami, and David Jonelis, a member at Lavely & Singer in Los Angeles, represented the plaintiff, Robert Scot Building Venture LLC and RSBV Pathway LLC. Opposing them were the defendants, Creative Wealth Media Finance Corp. and Jason Cloth, who informed U.S. District Judge Robin Rosenberg of the Southern District of Florida the night before the trial he would not be in court.
