A Baker McKenzie partner sued the Internal Revenue Service on Monday in federal court in Washington, D.C., to compel the federal agency into providing information about its increased efforts to crackdown on misconduct by wealthy partnerships and other business entities.
The complaint, filed by Washington-based tax partner George Clarke, comes after Clarke submitted a Dec. 19 Freedom of Information Act request for a paper authored by an IRS lawyer about document requests made of partnerships. Clarke is being represented by Baker McKenzie lawyer Sonya Bishop.
