A repeal of New York’s constitutional cap on trial court judges is among the 19 recommendations in the New York City Bar Association’s 2024 legislative agenda, as deliberations of the Senate, Assembly and Hochul administration proceed.
The approximately 23,000-member NYCBA is also asking lawmakers to revisit Gov. Kathy Hochul’s recent veto of a bill that sought to allow out-of-state lawyers to practice in New York without maintaining a physical office in the state.
