Colorado became the first state to sign into law an artificial intelligence-specific law, the Colorado AI Act, on May 17.
The law, which focuses on regulating algorithmic discrimination in “high-risk” sectors such as employment and housing and education, applies to all developers and deployers of this technology, operating in Colorado, regardless of the number of consumers affected.
