A jury has found Westchester Medical Center owes $23.3 million for failing to prevent a man being treated for a traumatic brain injury from suffering a fatal pulmonary embolism.
The May 10 verdict for the family of Jesus Eduardo Espitia, who was 48 when he died in November 2018, is the second recent verdict leveled against the hospital for brain damage-related malpractice in November 2018.
