“Procedurally, I’m pleased that we were able to provide her with a vigorous defense in court, getting numerous counts dismissed and fighting off two motions for interim suspension, even though today we lost the ultimate battle,” said S. Douglas County Probate Judge Christina Peterson’s first term of office has come to an early end.

The jurist had been set to step down from the bench on Dec. 31 after voters recently opted not to elect Peterson to another four-year term, but on Tuesday the Supreme Court of Georgia ruled the jurist be removed from office, effective June 25.
