A jury in the Southern District of New York on Friday found that the law firm Davis Polk & Wardwell is not liable for former Davis Polk associate Kaloma Cardwell’s retaliation claims, concluding a three-week civil trial that brought more than a dozen current and former Davis Polk partners to the witness stand.

Cardwell also named former Davis Polk managing partner Thomas Reid and former M&A group practice chair John Bick as individual defendants, and the jury found that Reid and Bick are not liable. The 10-person jury reached the verdict after about three hours of deliberation, and Cardwell appeared stoic as the verdict was read on Monday morning.
