A London-based technology company has filed a patent infringement complaint against Spotify, alleging the music streaming service is misusing its patented system for features that allow users to listen to music simultaneously.

The complaint, filed Aug. 2 in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California, alleges Spotify developed its shared-listening features “Remote Group Session” and later “Jam” after seeing a demonstration of Bluejay’s system in 2018.
