From a recent $8 million trial out of Brunswick to $47 million awarded by a jury in Cherokee County, verdicts in Georgia’s traditionally conservative counties are on the rise—but why?

According to the winning plaintiffs attorneys in these cases, the reasons why are many and sometimes conflicting. There’s one thing they do agree on, however. As attorneys Matt Cathey and David Dickerson of Northeast Georgia firm Cathey & Strain, who recently helped secure a $10 million verdict out of Franklin County, said, “The right case can achieve a good result regardless of where you are.”
