Access Optical Networks has accused Seagate of stealing confidential information to advance the research and development of its own next-generation mass data storage technology.

AON, represented by Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman, alleged misappropriation of trade secrets under the California Uniform Trade Secrets Act, breach of contract, and unjust enrichment in a complaint filed on May 17 in Santa Clara, California, Superior Court. The plaintiff is seeking damages and compensation from Seagate. Seagate did not respond to multiple requests for comment.
