While legislative sessions across the country are only just getting started this year, as of Jan 26, 374 bills characterized as anti-LGBT citizens were introduced in legislative bodies nationwide, according to the ACLU. In Georgia, six such bills have carried over into this year’s legislative session from 2023, with one additional piece of legislation introduced this month. Executive Director of Georgia Equality, Jeff Graham, said he anticipates more before the session adjourns.

“In Georgia, [like] in so many parts of the country over the last two years, it has become much harder for the LGBTQ community,” Graham said.
