In the space of a couple of weeks in late July and early August, Dentons and Clyde & Co were both accused by the Solicitors Regulation Authority of allegedly breaching money laundering regulations.

The considerable size of the two firms, and the proximity of the allegations, have inevitably attracted attention. But it’s no coincidence that the probes have come at the same time.
